Arrived safe and sound after a not so bad flight. Flew alone with plans to meet the girls in Bangkok. Sat in between an Aussie guy called Gus who claimed to be ‘best mates’ with the actor Hugh Jackman, and a German woman called Karen who is a prison warden.

Made friends with Gus who gave me his contact details; some of his friends own an events company with offices in Oz and UK. Nice one. Managed to sleep for most of the flight, despite Gus’ several projectile nose bleeds BAH!!!

When I arrived in Bangkok I had organised a car to take me to Khao San Road and went to the hotel where I was told the girls were staying at. When I tried to book in it turned out they weren’t there at all #lonelyinBangkok.com.

On arrival in Bangkok, I tried to call the girls; the phones wouldn’t work and then my credit card wouldn’t work. Not a great start… Decided to get a tuctuc to another hotel I had heard them talking about called the D&D (it seems every traveller in the world knows the D&D). Booked myself a tasty ‘delux’ single room for one night (£8), and thought – well I’ll find them somehow. Went to call the girls again from reception and by sheer luck ran in to them!

Popping out for food and bevvies in Khao San road now. We are staying here for the next 3 days and then moving north somewhere. Found a cat already…
